PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): A football tournament featuring 32 best teams on the province level commenced in central Logar province on Monday.
Physical training and sports director Engineer Muzamal Naimzai told Pajhwok the competition named Autumn Cup was organized by the Directorate of Physical Training and Sports and the Football Federation. The event will last for a week.
Naimzai says the first match was played between Bostan Ghazi Aminullah Khan and Etihad Jawanan Barki Barak teams.
He said that Bostan Ghazi Aminullah Khan team defeated their rivals.
He also added the competitions were aimed at promoting the game of football and enabling athletes to share experiences.
One of the players, Aminullah, told Pajhwok that such games could lead to good relations between athletes and one team could get better experiences from another team.
He said physical training and sports were useful and urged the authorities to organize similar competitions at the provincial level.
