KABUL (Pajhwok): Eighteen players have been selected for the national handball team, the Afghanistan Olympic Committee announced on Tuesday.
The General Directorate of Physical Training and Sports wrote on its X handle a trial tournament, featuring 17 teams from 16 provinces, concluded at the directorate’s gymnasium on Monday.
It said Kabul and Herat teams found their way to the final of the tournament, where Kabul trounced the opposition by 22-19 points.
Jawzjan grabbed the third position in the tournament. Eighteen best players were picked to the national handball team.
