KABUL (Pajhwok): At least nine people were killed and over 50 others injured when a bus carrying wedding guests met an accident in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.
Dawn.com reported the ill-fated bus veered off the road and fell into a ditch near Quetta, the provincial capital.
Police and rescue workers retrieved the bodies and the injured from the wreckage and removed them to Civil Hospital.
Emergency was declared at all government-run hospitals in Quetta.
“We received nine bodies and 30 injured passengers at Civil Hospital,” Dr Wasim Baig, a spokesman for the hospital, said. “Five of the injured are in serious condition.”
Mashal Radio quoted government officials as saying the accident took place on Thursday near the capital’s western bypass.
Exactly a month ago, five people were and 20 others were injured when a passenger bus overturned in Shirani district of Balochistan.
