KABUL (Pajhwok): Pledging continued humanitarian assistance, Russia will airlift another batch of essential items to Afghanistan next month.
Russian Special Presidential Envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov announced the fresh aid after the Moscow-format consultations on Afghanistan.
"In November, the next batch with humanitarian aid from Russia will be sent by air to Afghanistan. And this is not a one-time aid-action. We continue working on it,” the diplomat said.
TASS quoted Kabulov as referring to the challenging humanitarian situation in Afghanistan. He noted 23 million Afghans lived below the poverty line.
He commented: “These figures speak for themselves, so not only Russia, but all its partners in the Moscow Format are ready to assist Afghanistan to the extent of their economic capabilities.”
