21 killed in Israeli raid on Gaza mosque

KABUL (Pajhwok): Israeli forces have pounded a mosque in central Gaza, killing at least 21 Palestinians and wounding scores of others, Al Jazeera reported on Sunday.

Besides bombing the mosque overnight, the Israeli military also struck a school-turned-shelter, where three more people were killed.

The Gaza government said on Telegram about 93 others were wounded in the attacks in the heart of the embattled enclave.

Almost a year into the conflict, the Jewish state struck Al Aqsa Martyrs Mosque and the Ibn Rushd School, housing hundreds of displaced people.

The strikes came after Israeli assaults on 27 homes and displacement centres across the Gaza Strip in the past 48 hours.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military confirmed conducting the mosque strike, saying it was targeting a Hamas command and control center within the compound.
