KABUL (Pajhwok): An Israeli strike on a mosque in the Gaza Strip has sparked a wave of worldwide demonstrations.
The Palestinian news agency WAFA reported the Israeli raids on Al Nuseirat refugee camp and Deir al Balah township killed eight individuals and injured some others.
But Reuters said the mosque bombing in Deir al Balah has led to the death of five civilians and injuries to 20 others.
Residents of the locality told Reuters the death toll could possibly rise.
Thousands of protestors in some major cities of the world raised their voices for an end to the war in the Middle East.
Reuters said thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched through central London, Paris, Rome, Manila, Cape Town and New York City, demanding a halt to the wars in Gaza and Lebanon.
A number of demonstrators also gathered near the White House in Washington, protesting the US military support for Israel’s war in Gaza and Lebanon.
