Afghan team wins first slot in Iran’s Wushu contests

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan athletes with four gold, two silver and as many bronze medals secured first position in Iran’s “Peace and Friendship” Wushu competitions, Wushu federation officials said on Monday.

Afghanistan National Wushu Federation (ANWF) wrote in its Facebook account that an Afghan Wushu team participated in Iran’s “Peace and Friendship” Wushu Cup contests.

The Afghan group won four gold, two silver and as many bronze medals in the competitions, ANWF said.

Irani and Pakistani wushu teams also participated in the contests.

For the Afghan team, Shamsuddin Hajizada, Mohammad Jafar Sultani, Nazrullah Haidari and Shah Zaman won gold, Milad Kakar and Ishaqzai won silver and Omed and Abdul Rahman won bronze medals.

The teams of Iran and Pakistan secured second and third slots.

The contests titled “Peace and Friendship” lasted few days in Sistan Baluchistan province of Iran.

Yesterday Afghan Koresh athletes also won first position in the team division.

From Afghanistan, Mohammadullah, Mir Wali and Musa won gold and Siraj Ahmad won bronze medals in Koresh, a number of Pakistan and Iran Koresh athletes also participated in the contests, ANWF said.
