MoF pays off 850 million afs to private firms

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has repaid 850 million afs to some private companies, a statement said on Monday.

The MoF statement said on the basis of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) leadership’s decision, the process of payment of the remaining claims, guarantees and sureties of 35 private contracting logistics companies have been confirmed.

“Among the 21 institutions that have been approved by the MoF, and shared their reference reports with the ministry, following the executions  10 percent demand of the last solar year and and 15 percent demand of the current solar year would be met, it makes a total of 850 million Afghanis have been disbursed.”.

The statement said currently, the process of approving and executing the demands, guarantees and sureties was going on normally and the institutions that have been approved, after sharing the report of their references with the MoF would be given 15 percent of the demands, guarantees and guarantees.

MoF said the IEA was determined to pay all the debts owed to the system by the previous administration, so that various domestic private institutions are also strengthened financially and the system does not remain indebted to any party.

The source did not reveal the exact payable amount.

This comes that earlier the MoF also repaid 2.7 billion afs debt taken by the previous administration.
