FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): An 18-year-old girl drowned in a river in northeastern Badakhshan province, an official said on Monday.
Maulvi Mohammad Ikram Akbari, Director of the Natural Disasters Department, said that the girl, named Tobaa, drowned in the Kokcha River in Faizabad city while washing a carpet on Sunday evening.
Efforts are currently underway to recover her body, which has not yet been found.
