KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Food Programme (WFP) has distributed cash assistance to nearly four million people in Afghanistan this year.
In a post on X, WFP stated: “So far this year, nearly 4 million people received cash from WFP in #Afghanistan — half of them are women.”
The agency emphasized that this assistance aims to empower families to spend on their most essential needs.
On Saturday, Shahabuddin Delawar, head of the Afghan Red Crescent Society, met with a representative of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, where he urged for additional support to reach those in need during the cold season.
