KABUL (Pajhwok): A draft regulation governing affairs of the Counter Narcotics Commission has been finalized and will be submitted to the office of the supreme leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) for approval, the Administrative Office of the President (AOP) said on Wednesday.
The AOP office said in a press statement that the head of the office Sheikh Noorulaq Anwar held a meeting with deputies of 13 ministries and representatives from the Counter-narcotics Commission about the regulation.
At the meeting, each article of the draft was recited carefully by AOP official and head of the coordination department of the Counter Narcotics Commission and after a thorough discussion, some changes were brought to some articles. The officials then decided to finalize the changes.
It was decided in the committee’s first meeting chaired by AOP head Sheikh Noorulhaq Anwar that a technical team of representatives must underline and note changeable articles of the regulation.
According to AOP information, the regulation was prepared in three chapters and 25 articles which include general provisions, commission’s divisions of duties, work strategy and some other provisions.
The committee held a thorough discussion about the draft regulation that will be submitted to the IEA supreme leader for approval.
According to AOP office, the counter narcotics commission has been formed based on an order of the prime minister and a decree of the supreme leader.
