KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Head of Natural Disaster Preparedness Authority Mullah Nooruddin Turabi has urged China’s cooperation in transportation and technical sectors.

Turabi met Chinese Ambassador in Kabul Zhao Xing here today (Wednesday), the Natural Disaster Preparedness Authority wrote on its X handle.

It said the two sides discussed ways to reach out to natural disasters’ affected individuals with assistance.

Turabi appreciated Beijing for its assistance with Afghans and added: “Afghanistan and China are friendly countries. China was the first country to provide humanitarian assistance to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.”

He added China’s activities mostly served the vulnerable and requested more humanitarian aid from Beijing. He asked China for cooperation in technical and transportation sectors.

For his part, Chinese Ambassador conferred on his country’s aid to the victims of natural disasters in Paktika, Herat provinces and expressed his country's commitment to humanitarian aid.

He said China was committed to cooperation in the fields of economic, trade and humanitarian assistance.
