11 detained over counterfeiting in Kabul, Nangarhar, Bamyan

KABUL/ BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Eleven people have been arrested over allegedly transferring counterfeit money and selling counterfeit jewelry in Kabul, Nangarhar and Bamyan provinces, police said on Sunday.

In a video clip, Kabul police headquarters chief Maulvi Bashir Ahmad Mujahid explained that security forces had detained a group of six people on charges of smuggling counterfeit money from Pakistan and selling counterfeit jewelry.

“Three people were arrested in 17th police district of Kabul and as the case unfolded, we arrested three other members of this group in coordination with Nangarhar police in Jalalabad city. After completing the process, they were handed over to the Anti-Crimes Department,”: he added.

On the other hand, Bamyan police spokesman Mohammad Khawani Rasa told Pajhwok Afghan News a five-member group involved in selling counterfeit goods to people in an organized manner had been arrested.

The suspects would sell and produce counterfeit jewelry and their case has been handed over to anti- crimes department.
