KABUL (Pajhwok): Two companies from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan have evinced interest in investing in power generation projects using new technology in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Water and Energy (MoWE) says.
A MoWE statement said acting Minister Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour met Abu Bakr, the head of Sadaf Company of Kyrgyzstan and Murad, the head of MGCC Company of Uzbekistan, and discussed with them investment in energy projects.
The officials of these companies said they wanted to invest in solar, wind and coal power generating projects in Afghanistan using new technology.
However, the statement provided no further details.
The ministry said Mansour welcomed their interest and assured land provision and emphasized speedy establishment of necessary coordination and starting practical work.
