KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Work has been launched to switch the imported electricity transmission line to Kunduz province, an official said on Tuesday.
Mullah Shahadullah Nasim, a head of the Zonal Office of the Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS), told Pajhwok Afghan News the transformation of the electricity transmission line to Kunduz province would improve the import of electricity from 45MW to 100MW.
He said: “The project will cost 80 million afs which would be provided by the DABS and after the completion of the project, we would be able to distribute electricity to more places.”
Kunduz residents have been thrilled with the completion of the project.
Khal Mohammad, a local resident, said: “The electricity is very weak, especially in the summer season, now that this project is implemented, the electricity will be strong and our problems will be solved.”
Abdul Qadir, another resident of Kunduz, said: “It is good news that our lines are being renewed and that the electricity is strong, our demand from the Islamic Emirate is to use domestic resources and to fix the electricity grids inside our country, God willing, so that money does not go out and electricity is cheap.”
The project will be completed in two months and will be commenced.
