KABUL (Pajhwok): China has announced exempting exports from 40 countries, including Afghanistan, drom customs tariffs in 2025.
Director of Asian Affairs at the Foreign Ministry in Beijing Liu Jinsong made the announcement at a meeting with Ambassador Bilal Karimi, the Afghan Embassy in Beijing wrote on its X handle.
It said enhanced political ties between Kabul and Beijing, bilateral trade and positive interactions with regional and neighbouring countries came up for discussion.
The embassy quoted Jinsong as saying: “China would exempt exports from 40 countries, including Afghanistan, from customs tariffs in 2025.”
The director promised encouraging MCC and Central Asian oil and gas firms to accelerate extraction work on Amu oilfields and speed up implementation of the Mes Aynak copper mine project.
