Help Afghans manage power, water supply projects, world asked

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Energy and Water Mullah Abdul Latif Mansour has asked the world and human rights groups to assist Afghans in terms of expanding electricity and water supply projects.

He issued the call at a meeting with UN Development Programme (UNDP) Head Stephen Rodriques and some other representatives of this organisation, the Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) wrote on its X handle.

Referring to the vital value of water and electricity projects in Afghanistan, Mansour called implementation of water management and energy development projects essential in the country.

He urged the world and human rights institutions to assist Afghans in electricity development and water supply projects.

He also asked UNDP to financially support water supply from Panjsher to Kabul.

He called this project vital for addressing water shortage problems being faced by Kabul residents.

For his part, Rodriques said his organisation would continue its cooperation with MoEW.
