FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN-OCHA) will build 100 residential houses for flood-affected families in western Ghor province, an official said on Wednesday.
Governor’s spokesman Maulvi Abdul Wahid Hamas said OCHA representative met with Governor Maulvi Hayatullah Mubarak.
In this meeting, OCHA’s representative promised to build 100 residential houses for flood-affected families in Poshta Gamorak.
According to Hamas, the UN agency also contributed first aid including food and cash to the flood victims.
Most people need emergency aid due to impassable roads and long winter, Mubarak added.
Mubarak asked OCHA’s representative to work honestly in attracting help and addressing people’s problems.
Earlier, the UN had announced it would construct 100 houses for flood victims of Ghor.
