11 tonnes of ephedra recovered in Uruzgan

TARINKOT (Pajhwok): Nearly 11,000 kilograms of ephedra have been recovered in the Dihrawoud district of central Uruzgan province, an official said on Thursday.

Police Spokesperson Bilal Uruzgani said in the last two days, the anti-narcotics agents have discovered two drug factories in Chenark and Dehek areas of central Tirinkot City and destroyed 10,000 kilograms of methamphetamine.

He said that two drug processing factories were discovered in Dihrawoud district and 800 kilograms of marijuana recovered from them were burnt.

He said poppy cultivated on tens of acres of land was also destroyed.
