KABUL (Pajhwok): At least five people, including two security personal, have been killed and as many others, including a woman, injured in an attack by robbers in Faryab-Badghis highway, an official said on Friday.
Faryab Police Spokesperson Abdullah Muradi told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened on Thursday evening in the Aq Kotal locality.
He said: “According to preliminary investigations, armed robbers stopped a passenger car with two Mujahideen in it. When the Mujahideen resisted the robbers, as a result of the shooting, both Mujahideen and three civilians, including a woman, were killed and five others are injured and are now in hospital.”
The incident is still being investigated, he added.
Two injured victims told Pajhwok Afghan News a Flying Coach was on its way from Maimana City when stopped by gunmen in the Aq Kotal area.
Yousufullah, one of the injured, when the bus was stopped two Mujahideen of the IEA fired at gunmen but they were unhurt.
He added: “Later, the two armed robbers shot at the bus, as a result of which five people, including the two Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate, were killed and five others were injured, they tied our hands and pushed us to a ditch, apart from the belonging of the two Mujahidin they did not take anything from us.”
