JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Two road construction projects at the cost of 37 million afs started in the 9th Municipality District of Jalalabad City, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, an official said on Sunday.
Jalalabad Municipality officials and residents inaugurated the projects. Funds for the projects would be provided from the Municipality budget. Jalalabad Mayor Mawlavi Naqibullah Tariq said the two road construction projects are financially supported by the revenue generated from Jalalabad City.
He said it included 2.1 kilometre long and nine metres wide road, 16 culverts, 1,860 ditches, 2,570 metres of roadsides and other related work.
He asked residents to cooperate with the Municipality in the quality construction of the project.
Malak Esmatullah Halimi, a resident and tribal elder, demanded greater attention of the Municipality and the implementation of more projects.
