Baradar inspects work on Salang highway

Kabul (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has visited the Salang highway, the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW) said on Wednesday.

Mohammad Ashraf Haqshinas, spokesman for MoPW, wrote on X Mullah Baradar, accompanied by Minister of Public Works Mullah Mohammad Isa Sani, reviewed progress on the Salang Highway project.

He said Baradar met officials from the contracting company, the implementation team, and technical staff, expressing gratitude for their efforts.

Haqshinas added concrete blocks had been put on the road from the Salang Tunnel to Gallery 16 and work was ongoing on 10 other galleries.

He noted five galleries were under construction on the northern Salang Highway, and five more on the southern side.

He explained the Khanjan-Doshi road was being asphalted in the northern Salang.

MoPW is working to rebuild highways, roads and rail tracks to provide complete transportation facilities for citizens and national traders.
