KABUL (Pajhwok): The visit of religious scholars from Uzbekistan is evidence of cordial relationship, mutual respect and cooperation between the two neighboring countries, a statement said on Thursday.
On the invitation of the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs (MoHRA), a delegation of religious scholars from Uzbekistan arrived in the capital Kabul on Wednesday.
During a meeting with the visiting delegation, acting Hajj and Religious Affairs Minister Mufti Saqib said: “The arrival of Uzbekistan's leading scholars and high-ranking government officials demonstrated upon the good neighborhood, goodwill, and common mutual interest with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) and the Afghan people.”
He said the visit of the scholars of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan provided an opportunity to establish new cooperation and relations based on common beliefs and to provide a better understanding of each other's culture, history and values.
Mufti Sheikh Nooruddin Khaliq Nazar termed his delegation’s visit to Afghanistan a valuable opportunity to strengthen common values and beliefs and said that Uzbekistan and Afghanistan were both Islamic and Muslim countries and have many similarities in religious, cultural and religious affairs.
The delegation would visit historic and famous places in Afghanistan as well.
