KABUL (Pajhwok): Iran’s Ambassador and Special Representative for Afghanistan, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, said that an improved Afghan economy will yield positive results for regional countries.
Qomi made these remarks on the sidelines of the first international exhibition held in Mashhad, noting that Central Asian countries and Afghanistan are keen to enhance economic cooperation with Iran, according to the IRNA news agency.
He referred to the recent exhibition in Kabul, saying, “Major private sectors from Iran participated in the Kabul exhibition, demonstrating the strong commitment of the Islamic Republic to support the people of Afghanistan.”
Qomi emphasized that the hold of exhibitions and economic meetings focused on the private sector in Iran, Afghanistan, and Central Asian countries reflects their mutual interest in developing economic and trade cooperation.
He also highlighted Tehran's efforts to attract Afghan entrepreneurs and investors to participate in large projects in Iran.
He added that the Iran-Afghanistan route could establish a transit corridor connecting the north to the south and the east to the west, facilitated by the development of Chabahar.
