FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A teenage boy has died due to a flash flood in the capital of northeastern Badakhshan province, officials said on Sunday.
Maulvi Mohammad Ikram Akbari, director of the Natural Disaster Management Authority, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the 13-year-old lost his life in heavy rain-induced flooding within the 10th police district of Faizabad City on Saturday.
He said that the boy was attempting to cross a valley when the flood surged suddenly and swept him away. After three hours, his body was recovered and returned to his family.
