Deputy agriculture minister in China to attend summit

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock departed for China to participate in the World Summit on Agriculture Development and Poverty Reduction on Tuesday.

In a statement, Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock said Deputy Minister Maulvi Sadr Azam Osmani travelled to China to attend the global meeting on the growth and development of agriculture and poverty reduction.

This meeting on poverty reduction and development of agriculture is being held in Beijing and about 300 agricultural officials from different countries will attend it, the source added.

According to the statement, the meeting was aimed at discussing poverty alleviation and helping 800 million people in the world struggling with poverty.

The Deputy Minister will talk about the situation and opportunities of Afghanistan’s agriculture and livestock sector.
