KABUL (Pajhwok): The World Health Organization (WHO) says that Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer among women worldwide and most such cases are self-detected in those who do not undergo regular mammography.

What is cancer?

Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of cells in the body; this disease, which has different types, can be difficult and even impossible to treat if not diagnosed on time, and breast cancer is one of the most common cancers in women.

According to experts Breast cancer is a disease, in which breast cells grow abnormally and out of control, and these cells usually appear in the form of a tumor or granulation can be felt in the form of a lump.

On its x.com, the WHO wrote: “Breast Cancer is the most prevalent cancer among women worldwide, accounting for about one-fourth of all cancer cases in women annually,

Over 90% of breast cancer cases are self-detected in those who do not undergo regular mammography.”

Prevention measures:

Dr. Najm-ul-Nisa Shifajo, a gynecologist in the capital Kabul, said: “I want women to do more physical activities; Women who are overweight should lose weight, another important issue is that mothers should feed their children with their own milk; At least two years, breastfeeding is very important.”

She also referred to regular exercise and the use of natural foods, especially fruits, as effective, saying that as a result of doing these things, the resistance increases and prevents various diseases, including cancers.

According to her, avoid eating ready-made and quick-cooking foods such as chips because it increased the risk of cancer.

But the Ministry of Public Health of Afghanistan (MoPH), said more than 40 thousand people in Afghanistan infected with cancer annually, out of which nearly 20 thousand people die.
