KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan and Zimbabwe would play an all-format series in December and January, the board announced on Wednesday.
During Afghanistan’s tour of Zimbabwe, the two sides will play two Test matches, a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series and as many T20s.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board said the series would kick off with three T20s, with the opener scheduled for December 9. The second and third matches will be played on Dec, 11, and 12 at the Harare Sports Club.
The first ODI will be played on December 15, the second on Dec. 17 and third on Dec. 19 at the same venue.
The tour will conclude with a two-match Test series in Bulawayo, with the first scheduled for December 26-30 and the second for January 2-6.
ACB Chairman Mirwais Ashraf said: “This year has been quite productive for us both domestically and internationally, and we’ve had good achievements. We are committed to striving hard and adding more bilateral cricket to our calendar in the next year and bringing greater glory to our nation.”
Commenting on the Zimbabwe tour, Ashraf added, “The all-format tour to Zimbabwe is a significant event for us. We have a rich history with Zimbabwe, and playing there has always been challenging, but I believe the national squad can face confidently.”
The national squad will arrive in Zimbabwe on December 6, where they will have two practice sessions before the first T20I match on December 9.
