Kabul (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Interior (MoI) says all previously issued licenses, letters, inquiries, and documents for carrying weapons have been revoked in compliance with a decree from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s leadership.
According to a notification from the ministry, all officials, members of the IEA, and ordinary citizens are required to refrain from possessing or transporting light and heavy weapons and ammunition without permission from MoI.
It said: "Under this degree, a unified license will be issued across the country by DIAG management, affiliated with the Ministry of Interior's Directorate for Crime Detection and Combat, making all previously issued licenses, letters, inquiries, and documents invalid."
The notification says procedure for obtaining licenses for tinted windows vehicles has been approved.
It added that under this procedure, all officials, members of the Islamic Emirate, and ordinary citizens are required to strictly avoid applying tinted glass to military and civilian vehicles without authorization from the DIAG management of the MoI, and to obtain legal permits for tinting from the DIAC management.
The notification notes that current personnel from the Ministry of Defense and the General Directorate of Intelligence who meet the conditions set by the leadership of the IEA will receive licenses printed and issued by their respective institutions, while all other civilian institutions, national traders, money exchangers, and ordinary citizens will receive licenses printed and distributed by the Ministry of Interior.
