KABUL (Pajhwok): The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) special envoy and top Pakistani officials have discussed the current situation in Afghanistan.
OIC Envoy for Afghanistan Tarig Ali Bakheet met Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, the largest Islamic bloc said in a statement.
The two sides shared perspectives on matters of mutual interest, including political, economic, and humanitarian issues in Afghanistan.
They underscored the need for continued coordination and consultations in the interest of stability and progress in Afghanistan.
Separately, Ambassador Bakheet also met Ahmed Naseem Warraich, additional secretary (Afghanistan & West Asia) at the Foreign Office.
Bakheet highlighted the importance of strengthening the Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund (AHTF) under the aegis of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB).
