Amulet-writer killed in Nangarhar’s Khogiani district

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): An amulet writer has been killed by unidentified gunmen in Khogiani district of eastern Nangarhar province, police said on Saturday.

Police spokesman Sayed Tayib Hamad told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Peera Khell area of Khogiani district last night. The unidentified men had cut the throat of the amulet writer.

Security personnel have reached the area and have launched their investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice, Hamad added.

The motive behind the murder remains unclear, but security officials are conducting their investigations.

Separately, a man killed his brother with a knife after a physical clash in Sheikh Mesri township of Surkh Rod district.

The killer had fled the area, but security personnel have launched a manhunt for him.
