KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Statistic and Information Authority (NSIA) says computerised national identity cards (CNICs) have been distributed to more than 4,000 disabled people and martyrs’ heirs nationwide over the past eight months.
The Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs (MoMDA) CNIC distribution centre issued electronic ID cards to 4,110 special people and martyrs ‘heirs since the beginning of the current solar year across the country, NSIA said in a statement.
The statement quoted Zabihullah Azimi, director of the centre, as saying: “The centre is being visited by 70 people to obtain CNICs on a daily basis.”
The centre had been set up by MoMDA to provide more facilities to disabled individuals and martyrs’ heirs, the statement concluded.
