KABUL (Pajhwok): Ministry of Education (MoE) top officials have emphasized on elimination of the gap between religious and modern education as well as the gap between religious seminaries and schools.
A capacity building seminar for teachers titled “How to teach correctly and deal with students” kicked off today (Sunday) by MoE.
Deputy Minister of Education Karmatullah Akhundzadeh said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan was striving to provide education facilities in remote areas of the country.
Emphasizing on elimination of the gap between religious and modern education, he announced that thousands of schools had been established across the country during the last two years.
Sibghatullah Wasiq, deputy minister of resources and administration at MoE, said more attention had been paid to Islamic education after the IEA takeover.
Stressing professional recruitment in various sectors, he added the interim government was trying to standardize education in the country soon.
Maulvi Syed Ghiyasuddin Agha, senior advisor at the Ministry of Education, also emphasized the establishment of large schools in every province and the elimination of the distance between schools and religious seminaries.
The seminar kicked off today will continue for four days and 65 teachers from the professional development members of the MoE are participating in it.
According to them, after completion of this seminar, these teachers will go to schools all over the country and will hold capacity improvement seminars for all teachers.
