KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Minister for Refugees and Repatriates Maulvi Abdul Rahman Rashid has discussed construction of shelters, cash assistance and setting up small business for repatriates with two officials from the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriates said in a statement.
MoRR wrote on X Rahman Rashid met with DRC program manager Hanna Rose Holloway and Ahmad Zia Mayar, the deputy of the organization, in his office.
The two sides discussed goals achieved so far and current obstacles in the way of implementing more projects and the need for further cooperation between the MoRR and DRC.
Hanna Rose Holloway shed light on humanitarian activities of DRC in the country and said: “The organization is preparing shelters for refugees, livelihood program, cash assistance, small businesses in coordination with MoRR.””
MoRR said in its statement: “All activities of such organizations must be coordinated and focused on refugee affairs, it is also important to pay more attention to displaced families of the country.”
Rashid further insisted activities of relevant organizations should be based in the values of Islamic religion and hoped the organizations would help the displaced families in the field of health as well.
