ASADABAD (Pajhwok): The third Afghan Production National Exhibition of domestic industrial, agricultural and commercial goods and products has been inaugurated in Asadabad city, the capital of eastern Kunar province, an official said on Thursday.
Kunar Agriculture Department Director Mawlavi Mohammad Tayyib Yousuf during the opening ceremony said the exhibition was launched in cooperation with the Sikaram Ahmadi Company and the Ministry of Commerce and Industries.
He said: “Our aim with this exhibition is to find a suitable market for domestic products and to encourage people to use their domestic goods instead of foreign goods.”
Masoud Haqmal, one of the organisers of the exhibition and in-charge of the Sikaram Company, said that agricultural, commercial and industrial products in 53 stalls would be put on display during the exhibition.
He asked all people to support their local products.
Haqmal said: “We aim to draw people's attention to domestic products by creating such exhibitions and encourage them to use their domestic products.”
The industrialists and businessmen who displayed their products in this exhibition are happy and want the government to help them with marketing.
Mohammad Dawod, who displayed the rugs, caps and other items made from woolen cloth in this exhibition, said that he was happy to organize the exhibition.
He said: “Our request to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, aid agencies and other investors is to give more importance to their national products and to provide them with sales and transportation inside and outside.”
It was the first time that the Ministry of Commerce and Trade (MoCT) and a private company have jointly held an exhibition of local products.
