Calligraphy exhibition ‘Treasure of Truth’ held in Herat

HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): An exhibition of calligraphy works titled “Treasure of Truth” was launched in western Herat province on Thursday.

The Information and Culture Department has organized the exhibition in cooperation with TIKA office at Alama Salahuddin Saljoqi Hall.

Information and Culture Director Maulvi Hamidullah Ghiasi said the exhibition was aimed at supporting calligraphers and promoting the art of calligraphy in the province, and in this exhibition, 32 works in Kufi and Nastaliq styles have been displayed.

Head of TIKA office Dr. Arafat Deniz, while supporting cultural workers, said the Turkish Cooperation Agency office in Herat was trying to support and encourage artists and cultural workers by holding art exhibitions.

Fawad Haqiqat, a calligrapher, appreciated DoIC and TIKA office and explained such exhibitions were effective for the development of arts.

Earlier, information and culture department in cooperation with TIKA office had organized similar exhibitions in the province.
