KABUL (Pajhwok): Kabul’s rugby team has emerged victorious in the Rugby Championship held in Bamyan, with 12 top-performing players selected for Afghanistan’s national team.
The tournament, which wrapped up on November 8, featured 100 athletes from six provinces and concluded with Kabul defeating Ghazni 5-0 in the final match.
The General Directorate of Physical Education and Sport of Afghanistan confirmed that the second round of national rugby selection trials, which started four days ago, has now concluded.
In addition to Kabul’s championship win, Ghazni secured second place, while Faryab finished third.
The National Olympic Committee (NOC) also announced the selection of 12 standout players who will represent Afghanistan on the national rugby team.
