KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan ITF Taekwondo and Jitkondo players of Afghanistan National Wushu Federation won two gold and four silver medals in Uzbekistan, the Sports Department said on Saturday.
In a statement, Olympic Committee, Physically Training and Sports Department said the competitions were held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan and Amir Alizada defeated his rival in 59kg weight category and won silver medal.
The week-long ITF Taekwondo contests titled “World Cup Championship” featuring 1,200 athletes from 20 countries were launched in Tashkent and four Afghan players participated in the completions.
North Korea players won the competitions and Russia athletes stood runners-up.
Jit Kondo Committee’s athletes in Afghanistan National Wushu Federation have won two gold and three silver medals in the international competitions.
