KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister Maulvi Abdul Kabir says the Islamic Emirate has addressed global concerns d regarding Afghan soil.
In a statement, the Presidential Palace said Maulvi Kabir made the remarks during a meeting with Veronika Boschovic Pohar, the EU’s chargé d’affaires.
Pohar said the EU continued to provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people in various sectors and was focused on dealing with existing challenges.
She emphasised the importance of relations between the IEA and the EU, adding they were working to carry out activities effectively in Kabul in areas where they were most needed.
Maulvi Kabir said the IEA desired positive relations with all countries in the world.
He said that the caretaker government had begun the reconstruction of the country using its own budget and was striving for economic self-sufficiency.
He noted relations between the IEA and the world were growing and pointed out a number of foreign embassies are operational in Afghanistan.
Similarly, the deputy premier explained, the IEA had 40 diplomatic missions abroad, a number that is expected to increase.
He urged further support from EU in areas such as development, eliminating narcotics, alternative crops, job creation, and treatment of drug addicts.
IEA had addressed all the concerns that the world had regarding Afghanistan’s territory, Kabir concluded.
