IEA backs Qatar, Türkiye policies towards Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has welcomed Qatar and Türkiye policies towards Afghanistan and said stability in Afghanistan was in the interest of all countries and the IEA worked for the security, economic well-being and prosperity of its people.

According to the Voice of America report, the need to establish an inclusive government in Afghanistan was mentioned in the Thursday meeting between Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The two leaders, in addition to expressing a common position regarding other crises in the region and the world, have once again reiterated their position to establish stability in Afghanistan.

IEA Deputy Spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat said in an audio message: "We are doing everything we can to support the position of Qatar and Türkiye, which insists on the continuation of peace and stability in Afghanistan."

He said that the stability of Afghanistan was in the interest of all countries, the Shariah rights of all citizens in Afghanistan were protected and the Islamic Emirate was working for the security, economy and welfare of the people in a responsible manner.

He added that Afghanistan desired positive relations with the countries of the world based on its balanced policy and especially emphasized the development of political and economic relations with Turkey and Qatar.
