Uruzgan’s Charchino residents want district road constructed

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Residents of Charchino district in central Uruzgan province complain about poor condition of the district’s road leading to Tirinkot, the provincial capital, urging its construction before the arrival of winter.

Inhabitants of the district shared their problems and demands with provincial officials at a gathering in the district last week.

They urged the officials to construct the district’s road to the provincial capital before the arrival of winter.

Mohammad Ibrahim, an inhabitant of the district, said: “Our district road should be constructed before winter because we are currently facing a lot of challenges.”

He said the route was often closed in winter due to rains and floods.

Lal Muhammad, a resident of Oshi area of the district, also urged permanent solution to the problem.

Some other residents of the district say no attention had been paid to the district in terms of development projects and they were facing with many problems.

Meanwhile, governor Maulvi Inayatullah Shuja assured that work would be launched on this route in near future.

He said he would share other problems of the district with concerned officials in capital Kabul.

He also promised one million afghanis in cash and 5,000 liters of oil in aid from the provincial capital in construction of the district route.

He asked the people to cooperate with the government and refrain from drug cultivation and smuggling.
