KABUL (Pajhwok): At least 50 Palestinians have been killed in an Israeli strike in the northern Gaza’s Beit Lahiya City, says a media report.
The Gaza government’s media office said on Sunday Israeli forces struck a multi-storey residential building housing six forcibly displaced Palestinian families in Beit Lahiya.
Al Jazeera quoted Ministry of Health Director-General Munir al-Bursh as saying almost 30 percent of the victims of the massacre were children.
He said dozens of others were wounded and many more were feared trapped under the rubble.
Mahmoud Basal, spokesman for the Palestinian Civil Defence in Gaza, said emergency workers were unable to reach the site due to the more than 40-day-old Israeli siege of northern Gaza.
