KABUL (Pajhwok): The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) has pledged to boost assistance to the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS).
Afghan Red Crescent Society head Shahabuddin Delawar met Ana Maria, chief of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's polio programme for Asia and the delegation accompanying her here on Sunday.
ARCS wrote on its X handle Delawar briefed the delegates about the services provided by the society to orphans and vulnerable families, as well as emergency assistance to those affected by natural disasters through health centres.
He urged the foundation to expand its assistance to ARCS.
Maria appreciated ARCS services as crucial for deprived and vulnerable patients. She also pledged increasing assistance to ARCS.
