Pact signed to help poor families in Takhar, Badakhshan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The National Disaster Management Authority has signed a cooperation agreement worth over 650,000 US dollars with an international non-governmental organization (NGO).

The authority in a press statement said the agreement was signed yesterday between Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, the agency head, and Nigel Elms, program manager of the ‘Concern’ international organization in Kabul.

Under the agreement, the NGO will provide fuel and warm clothes to 1,613 poor families in Takhar and Badakhshan provinces.

Earlier, the Natural Disaster Management Authority had signed a cooperation agreement worth more than 469 million US dollars with a charity organization.
