KHOST CITY (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Interior Maulvi Sirajuddin Haqqani says the caretaker government is striving to fulfill every legitimate need and demand of the masses.
He said after laying the foundation stone of a mosque in southeastern Khost province.
The mosque is being constructed at a cost of 30 million afghanis by a national businessman in the second police district of Khost city, the provincial capital.
The mosque will have the capacity to accommodate 2,500 worshipers at a time.
Haqqani said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has taken part in construction of mosques and religious seminaries. He called taking part in religious affairs the duty of every Muslim.
He said: "We should not leave religiou to Mullah (prayer leader) alone. Every Muslim should take part in religious affairs, but in order to fulfill and solve worldly needs, we will make principles, rules and efforts to solve those problems with the right method and sincerity.”
The interim government has started construction work on various development projects at its own cost, Haqqani explained.
The minister assured the caretaker government would fulfill all legitimate need and demand of the people.
Meanwhile, Ismail Shah Ayobi, a trader and founder of the mosque, said the mosque would be constructed on a standard manner and will be completed in one year.
He said: “The mosque will consume 30m afs and would have the capacity to accommodate 2,500 worshipers.”
He urged other businesspeople and investors to take part in construction of mosques and religious seminaries.
