More youths to be provided technical, vocational training: Mawlavi Hanafi

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has made significant progress in the technical and professional fields, and currently 90,000 people were engaged in training in 73 different technical and professional fields, an official said on Wednesday.

Mawlavi Abdul Salaam Hanafi, deputy prime minister for administrative affairs, said this while addressing a closing ceremony of the National Exhibition of the Best Innovations of Afghanistan in Kabul.

He said currently, over 90,000 students were engaged in getting training in 73 different fields.

He emphasized that the IEA was trying to provide technical and professional training for more young people in the country in the future.

Some officials of the IEA emphasised the need for professionals in the country and the importance of technical and professional education in the continuation of this program

Nooruddin Aziz, acting minister of Commerce and Industries, said the only education that could help Afghanistan towards self-reliance was technical.

“We need to move towards knowledge, profession and technology which is practiced in the world.”

Referring to the fact that Afghanistan has over 16 million young manpower, stressed that the ATVI was the only institution that could provide professional and trained force to society.

Qari Din Mohammad Hanif, the acting minister of economy, said as a result of several decades of war in Afghanistan and the defeat of the two superpowers by the Mujahideen, the country suffered losses from material and spiritual aspects.

Farooq Azam, advisor of the Ministry of Energy and Water, said that technical and vocational training could help create jobs in society and avoid the migration of youth from the society.

The second "Afghanistan National Innovations Exhibition" was held by the Technical and Vocational Education Directorate for four days in 80 booths in Badam Bagh, Kabul, where 331 projects from 20 provinces were exhibited.

The owner of 21 best projects was picked by officials and was applauded materially and spiritually by government officials.
