KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has condemned an armed attack on worshippers in northern Baghlan province.
At least 10 people were killed in the attack in the Nahrain district of the province on Thursday night, local residents confirmed.
Mufti Abdul Matin Qane, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI), also verified the assault.
The UN mission wrote on its X handle: “UNAMA condemns Thursday’s armed attack against a Sufi place of worship in Baghlan province, northern #Afghanistan, in which at least 10 people were killed.”
It urged the caretaker government to fully investigate the incident, prevent future attacks and ensure communities were protected.
