FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Three roads have been constructed at a cost of 28.5 million afghanis and put into use in western Farah province, an official said on Sunday.
At the opening ceremony, mayor Mufti Sardar Mohammad Mersad said the roads of Chawk, the police headquarters and Syed Mir Ajab Agha were constructed and put into service.
He said these roads were 1,200 meters long and 20 meters wide and their construction consumed 28.5 million afghanis provided by the municipality and took four months to complete.
According to the mayor, these roads have flowerbeds, sidewalks, and a solar power system for lighting at night.
Meanwhile, Abdul Ghani, a resident of the first district, told Pajhwok Afghan News the construction of these roads would largely reduce congestion in the city.
He emphasized other similar projects should be implemented to beautify and clean the city.
