Mujahid makes pitch for upswing in ties with China

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Defence Mullah Mohammad Yaqub Mujahid has emphasised on enhanced bilateral ties between Kabul and Beijing.

Mujahid met China’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Yuxiao Yong and Chinese Ambassador in Kabul Zhao Xing here on Saturday, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said.

A statement from the ministry said the two sides discussed various issues, including economic cooperation, greater bilateral ties and investment in the Afghanistan.

Mujahid called China a common neighbour and an important partner of Afghanistan’s people and stressed the need for further boosting relations between the two countries.
