KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan has extended an agreement on importing electricity from Tajikistan until the end of 2025, the power utility announced on Monday.
The agreement was inked between Da Afghanistan Breshna Shirkat (DABS) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdul Bari Omar and Tajikistan’s National Electricity Company head Mohammad Omar Asuzada in Turkey.
Without going into details of the agreement, the power utility announced the agreement extension in a brief post on its X handle.
However, DABS spokesman Hamkatullah Maiwandi previously told Pajhwok Afghan News as per the agreement, Tajikistan would provide 100 to 120 megawatts of electricity to Afghanistan.
